If you think that science fiction is dead, or that humor and porn can't coexist, director Jonathan Morgan's Space Nuts - a clever spoof of the George Lucas oeuvre - will make you think again. Sexy princess of the Clitoran system Hubba Hubba (Stormy), assisted by prissy droid Jeeves (Randy Spears), is on the run from mottled Evil Overlord Mike Horner and his ball-busting sidekick Devinn Lane. Of course she can't do this alone, so enter smartass space jockey Buzz Starfucker (Evan Stone). Stormy takes refuge in a galactic casino/whorehouse where Spears is redefined as a "pleasure droid" - he digs it when he is with Kaylani Lei, but when a cigar-smoking guy in a feather boa swaggers in and says, "I'm your two o'clock," he has second thoughts. Stormy is shanghaied into dancing for the amusement/arousal of Horner, who corners her after her dancing performance and discovers who she is, commanding, "Kill everyone on board ... and destroy the ship." In a stunning reversal of the usual scenario, Hubba Hubba marries the Evil Overlord, in the Malibu-ocean-view area of the Holodeck. To consummate the marriage, Evil Overlord offers to morph into a number of different characters - including one laugh-out-loud unexpected cameo - before she settles on Julian and wakes up, screaming. So we start over from " ... and destroy the ship." Spears and Stone try to spring Stormy from the brig, get foiled by Lane and get tossed into a pit of death with "Monstro" - a holographically generated pit, but a pit of death, Lane explains - where they prevail in a clever fight scene with a costumed monster, escape and get honored and rewarded with a personal pleasure droid (Jeeves) and a princess (Starfucker). Happy ending. On a bottom-line basis, the ten sex scenes (including a b/g turn by the until-recently g/g only Lane) will give value for the whackers and fast-forwarders. For those who can keep their thumbs off the remote, Stone is in his element, his casual wit a perfect match for the smirking swagger required here. When he leads Devinn Lane to a verdant setting, he offhandedly remarks, "A jungle - how original." Spears gives what could be the comedy performance of the year, hitting all the right notes as the tuxedoed droid. Pre-noms to Stone for Best Actor; Stormy for Best Actress; Lane and Spears for support; Morgan and August Warwick for the running-gag filled script; Rod Hopkins for the amazing sets; Jake Jacobs and Francois Clouzot for the HD videography; and Morgan for direction. Superlative special effects, including a dead stop in space, deserve a pre-nom as well.
